AI 2040: Plan A launch event

During Generator, I co-organized the launch event for AI 2040: Plan A, a policy proposal from the AI Futures Project. Afitab and I ran the event end to end, from outreach and invitations to logistics and designing the discussion content. The event brought together ~200 people from the AI safety community, frontier labs, policy, and adjacent spaces to celebrate the release and discuss the proposal with its authors.

I also co-organized a one-week AI safety world-modeling bootcamp, built on the premise that AI safety is a young and relatively shallow field, so an intense sprint might be enough to learn most of what you need to reach its frontier. The bootcamp had 25 attendees and 16 guest speakers, covering ML fundamentals, futurism, the technical case for alignment, an overview of the field's major strategies and agendas, technical work such as white-box methods and empirical alignment, and the policy landscape.
